Believe it or not but the 2023 ABCA Cricket Season started off with two well-contested fixtures of the T10 League. Police took on Bolans Blasters who posted 69 for 3 from their 10 overs with Hughan ‘Muscle’ Tonge top-scoring with 25 runs. In return, Police surpassed the target with five balls to spare with Captain Derek Mourillon scoring 42 from 25 balls before Allrounder Shavon Moore blasted 24 from just seven balls.
In the other fixture, Pigotts Crushers smashed Rising Spartans by six wickets. Batting first, Spartans could only manage a modest 56 from their 10 over before Kadeem Henry picking up 2 for 4 from his allotment. However, it was not so much of a smooth sailing for the Crushers as they regularly lost wickets but with steady and smart batting from the explosive Essan Warner, they were guided home safely to register their first win of the tournament.
