Tyrone Williams Jr. – Player of the Week 17

After receiving a golden duck last week from the first delivery of Empire’s innings, Mr. Williams continued where he left off against the Rising Sun Spartans in fine fashion. The stylish right handed batsman stroked a well played 143 from 199 balls in a knock that featured three 50+ partnerships. His ability to bat long has clearly been seen previously against the Spartans, batting over four hours hitting 13 fours and 2 sixes as he received great support from former Leeward Islands player Juari Edwards (76).

The Bolans Blasters truly had no answers to the delightful shots played by their former teammate and very own man from the community, “T-Willy” . In fact, they used a total of nine bowlers to see who could solve the problem at hand but to no avail. However, it was Martin Caesar who provided the solution for the men from the south dismissing Williams in the 69th over.

His knock essentially set the foundation for Empire Nation to post a commanding total of 293, which they used to their full advantage beating Bolans by an innings and 107 runs. We have named Mr. Williams as our Player of the Week for his outstanding performance on the weekend. Thank you to our sponsors for making the award possible.
